Belluno alza la voce (Belluno raise your voice) is a song written and played by approximately 50 artists from the Belluno area.
The project mission is to raise funds to support and rebuild parts of the Belluno area that were severely damaged by the recent storms and floodings that hit the north-eastern parts of Italy. The initiative was started by Alessandro Casol, Davide De Faveri and Andrea Albano, and shortly after many local singers, musicians and music professionals joined the cause. We, artists from Belluno, decided to write this song as we felt we had to do our part in helping the Community.
We might not be able to use chainsaws or shovels to rebuild what was destroyed by rain and mud, but still we want to help the Province of Belluno by sending a strong message. It is important for us to stand up again and to show the world the we are still here. Just as vast was the quantity of mud that destroyed our houses is the mud that now weighs down on our minds and hearts, but with this song we want to release that burden. For this type of mud no type of shovel can help, it can only be removed by love, support and hope. It is for this reason that Belluno is raising its voice to tell and spread this message.
